All my anglers, I recently made a trip to Kentucky Lake this past weekend and fought the heat and wind. Was only able to come up with 5 Bass that only measured 12 inches, it appears that the fish are hitting at night, because when we were putting in Sunday morning saw a club weighing in.
It appeared to me that they must have had a all night tournament, but every angler had a bag full. I ask one of the members what and where they caught most of the fish and he replied on a spinner bait and in the water.
You got to think not all anglers will tell you a single thing, but discovered that they were catching the Bass on a deep diving CRANK BAIT, and fishing the ledges and mussel beds by the grass. The water is still up and the grass is just under the surface.
The Water Temp (surface) was right at 86 with the AIR TEMP of 92, and a perfect bluebird day.
We stayed at the FISH TALE LODGE, which is about three minutes from the Boat ramp, and I have to highly recommend this lodge. They came in everyday and made the beds and made sure that we have fresh towels.
We stayed in cabin 2 up on the hill and can not think of a nicer cabin that I have stayed in through the years. The price was $135.00 a night and worth every penny of it. Two full bedrooms that was separated by the kitchen and a full bath in each room. The kitchen had everything you need to cook with and eat with.
If you decide to eat out be prepared for either Pizza or Mexican food, took forever to find a Hamburger joint.
Keep the Hooks Wet
