Happy Fourth of July to all my readers and the new ones just joining us.
I will attempt to keep you updated on when and where the fish are biting and I can tell you from last night.
I made a trip to Sardis Mississippi and was fishing in Hurricane creek and the surface temp was 93 degrees. That kind of shot down my thought of maybe getting a few bass to bite.
We started at 6pm and I think I threw to every tree in the creek and we only ended up with 4 fish that just made it to 13 inches. I think the fish were smarter than I was and headed for deeper water. If you have ever fished Hurricane Creek you do not want to wonder to far off, because of all the trees and stumps. That is not a place to punch a hole in your boat at night.
We gave up about 11:30pm and called it a night, talked with Park Ranger as we were loading the boat back up and he report that sometimes the fish are here one day and gone the next. He had not heard of anyone catching a hog in awhile with all this heat.
A buddy of mine called me and told me that he tore them up on the main lake on the points that had trees, in two feet of water with Spinner Baits, Rattle Traps (Chrome and Blue), and some worms Carolina rigged. They were fishing in the heat of the day and were catching some nice fish.
That is all I have for now looking to make a trip to either Enid Mississippi or back to PICKWICK in the near future.
Keep The Hooks Wet
Steve
