I guess the best way to start this off is stay indoors and stay cool, if you have the itch to really get out there and look for MR. BASS HOG. I suggest that you make it a very early morning trip or just before sunset.

If the weather is anything like it is here in Memphis Tn we have been looking at temps in 100 range By 8:30am.

The astro charts are stating that the 21st is the best day to get out and look for some fish to fill the freezer (NOT BASS). The major fishing time is 11:15am til 2:40pm, do not forget this is going to be very hot….plenty of water and sunscreen. This will be your new moon to fish.

The full moon is Tues July 7th 12:45am til 1:37am, remember me talking about a few days before the full moon and a few days after the full moon. I have caught some awful big bass when the moon is directly over head, the big ones are out and looking for a easy meal. Try a top water bait : Spook, Buzz Bait, Frog, and even a Floating Worm hooked in the very middle of the worm. This way it does not take a whole lot of movement to make the worm look alive.

Last but not least look at the article I wrote about catching three at a time, this is another situation that the Flukes come into play. There is something about three little fish moving on the top of the water that will drive the bass crazy.

Most of all if fishing at night practice more safety than you would during the day, to ensure that you will return for another battle with Mr. Bass Hog. Put that LIFE JACKET ON AT THE RAMP,  AND DO NOT REMOVE IT UNTIL YOU ARE BACK ON DRY LAND.
