Every time I turn around am being ask WHEN IS IT THE BEST TIME TO GO FISHING. So I thought it would be great for you to be able to check out what I predict, and what the Astro charts say.
I will be posting my prediction or guesses the first of every month to help improve your cances of catching Mr Hog. So make sure you check back.
First of all, you have to refer back to the my articles on Bass Spawning Season and Fishing A Lake .
For the Month of February 2009, the best day is Feb 9th because the moon is full that day. Also stop and think that I have told you to fish three days prior to the full moon and three days after the full moon.
The time that the Astro Charts list is 9am to about 3pm. I always add about a hour in front and behind so you will be there when they get hungry.
This will be when the fish will be more active and in a feeding mood.
The New Moon will be the 24th and I would hit the ponds/Lakes during this time also. Fish around 10:30am thru 2pm and see if this does not produce you some fish.
Two things you have do is Stop and Think, the smaller ponds/lakes will warm up faster so this is where you will hook up with some hogs first. The second thing is while it is still very cold in your area, you must keep your presentation super slow.
Try different baits such as the lip-less crank-bait or (Rattle Trap) or a crank-bait with a lip, Texas rig worm. Bundle up and if in a boat make sure the life-jacket is on at all times.
