STEVE’S FEBRUARY PREDICTIONS

February 2nd, 2010 · No Comments

Everyone cross your fingers and let us all hope this is the last of the cold weather and we can get back on the water.

As February starts off with all the cold stuff around it is slow going and will not pick up until about the middle of the month. I would say anytime after the 15Th and for a very short time in the morning. When I say morning I am not talking like it was the middle of the summer, but let the sun get up and start to heat the water. As we approach the spring always fish the sunny side of the lake it will be the warmest.

Toward the end of the month is when we are schedule for the full moon and is some places the crappie will be on fire as they move up to spawn.

Report coming in from DALE HOLLOW are that the SMALL-MOUTH are hitting the FLOAT AND FLY and I recommend using a LIME GREEN OR ORANGE hair JIG. Fish the rock ledges and do not be surprised to see a lot of 3 to 4 pound-ers and every once in a while maybe a 5 pound-er.

Stop and think the water is still real cold so make sure that before you launch your boat the LIFE JACKET is on and DO NOT REMOVE until the boat is back on the trailer.

KEEP THE HOOKS WET
