Like I said in December the last week of December and the first few days of January are your best bet. This is a rare treat seeing that we are having our second full moon in the same month.
This only happens every so often and I think the last time we had two full moons in the same month was back in 1990.
Friday the 1st of 2010 from 11:25 AM until 3PM should be good this will allow the Bass to shake off some of the ice from their fins, maybe go after your bait that you are throwing. Try the Rattle Trap or Deep Crank Bait, last try a Pig and Jig. Remember fish all three slow the bass are not going to run after your bait, in fact if you drop it right in front of MR. Bass Hog, you still might have to tease him with it.
Saturday the 2nd is still good from 12:30pm until 4PM and the rest of the month is when I would be planted next to the fireplace.
Fear not at the end of January if you are getting the itch like me and need to wet a hook the second round for the month picks back up from the 27th to the 30th and you sound be looking for MR. BASS HOG in the morning from 7:30AM until 11:30AM.
OH by the way a little note that I am starting to collect the Christmas trees, so I will be able to set them out the first part of Feb. so they will be ready for crappie season and my trip to Pickwick the first week of April. I have plans to show you the steps with pictures and a add on to the article I have already written on Making your own Honey Holes. Check back now and then and let us get ready for crappie season together and see if we can load up the freezer this year.
Keep The Hooks Wet
